Prolotherapy for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome

01/02/2018

If you, or anyone you know, has Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) then you need to be getting prolotherapy.

Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) is a genetic connective tissue disorder. The problem is that these patients produce abnormal collagen resulting in loose joints and ligaments. These loose ligaments and joints often result in multiple issues with pain, joint dislocations, fractures, and other problems.

Is there a cure?

Traditional medicine focuses on things like exercise, physical therapy, surgery, pain management, medications, etc. But none of these interventions address the underlying problem.

At Prolo Vallarta, our primary goal is to identify the underlying problem and fix it if at all possible. Well, we can't FIX this problem. Its genetic. However, we can address the issue near its foundation. Nothing else can address this disorder as effectively.

A patient with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS).  She had 3 rounds of standard dextrose Prolotherapy. The procedure was no different than we've done many times in our clinic. Her pain was dramatically improved. Also, those results were sustained for over 4 months. That is interesting because she is still making abnormal collagen. Yet, prolotherapy still works for her.

Most patients see significant improvement in 3 to 6 rounds of prolotherapy. That is if they are able to produce normal collagen. Ehlers-Danlos patients do not make normal collagen complicating their process. But they still see significant improvement in their symptoms!
